Our Mission

At A Noble Novel, we believe in the transformative power of stories and the pleasure books can bring into our lives. Our mission is to combat the loneliness and isolation experienced by many solder adults by connecting them with the joy of reading and the warmth of human connection.

We do this by collecting gently used books paired with heartfelt notes from donors. These personalized gifts are then distributed to individuals in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and those living independently in Northern Virginia.

Aware of the increasing number of older adults in isolation and inspired by the "Blind Date with a Book" trend, we wanted to create a way for individuals to fill their time exploring new genres, authors, and stories.

Through the simple act of sharing a book and a personal message, we aim to encourage reading, provide mental stimulation, and create moments of shared experiences while keeping books out of landfills or collecting dust on shelves.
